Maternity leave is over and it is good to be back in the D365 world
OK admittedly I have been very quiet on here recently. The last 4 weeks I have made the transition back to the working world after being on Maternity Leave. It feels good to be back working and I am so pleased to be back on my previous Project!
What’s amazed me, is how in such a short period of time the features can change so much. Don’t get me wrong I know there are wave releases but when you step away from the app completely and then come back to it, seeing those features come in so quickly in the space of 6months is mind blowing.
For example, whilst I was on leave, the Marketing Library’s have now merged, which is great as you don’t have to worry about going through the steps of copying all assets from Outbound Marketing to Real Time Marketing should you wish to recreate the emails and use a Real time trigger.
Speaking of triggers, I love that fact that we can create custom triggers, and even distinguish between the audience of the custom tables/columns; let’s say we have 3 different contact types regarding the same table well here we can distinguish the audience. What’s more, is that we can add further conditional logic to the trigger when we add this to a Real time Customer Journey , based on additional field values. We can now be really specific and only trigger to X audience on the update of a custom record and ensure that the values of certain fields within that record equal certain criteria. If they don’t meet the values then contacts won’t be send down the customer journey.
Once i’ve got my head back into the app and all of its new features, I think I may start doing mini tutorial videos. Sometimes watching is better than reading. I’m definitely more of a watch and copy kind of learner! And I think the marketing app, with all of its features is definitely one of those apps where repetition helps. Once you can build one trigger and journey the branching logic definitely gets easier the more you build.
And before I go… I will be hosting a Session at Scottish Summit in Manchester on 5th August! This will focus on the marketing role, the pain points of the marketing role and how I believe the D365 Marketing App can help alleviate some of this. Looking forward to seeing you all there!
Kelly 😊
