3 features that are so under-rated!

D365 Marketing (renamed to Customer Insight - Journeys) is well known for its customer journey orchestration (hence the name change) Real-time marketing offers marketeers the ability to create event-based customer journeys, create custom triggers that allow for a custom table to be triggered along with dictating the audience of the trigger. Journey orchestration can include SMS and push notifications, and can benefit from AI to predict and deliver content across the right channel and the best moment in time for the individual; Microsoft have enabled marketeers to deliver hyper-personalised customer experience.

This blog post identifies 3 features that are under-rated and make life for the 2023 D365 marketeer that little bit easier i

Feature Spotlight Number 1

Did you know from April 2023 we have been able to send an email from D365 Marketing, without adding it to a customer journey?!
Marketeers, can create an email as they normally would in the email designer, and can send their email to the segment members which they would like to target within minutes straight from the email designer!

Simply design your email, and select the “Send” button in the top right corner.

Here you will be able to update the recipients, selecting your segments as Microsoft have shown

And this will essentially create the Customer journey for the Marketing individual; Providing them with the opportunity to then view the Customer journey that has just been created.

The positive to this, is that the system allows for an easier user experience from a Marketeer’s point of view; particularly for those who are new to D365 Marketing.
The main thing to point out here is that this is Segment recipient based and not trigger based at the moment.

Feature Spotlight Number 2

In May 2023 Microsoft designed and improved the Real-time marketing segment builder, allowing marketeers to create segments based on customer interactions and engagement with marketing messages, websites, events, or other channels. Now, Marketeers can easily create more complex conditions such as “all contacts who have opened the newsletter twice within the last 30 days"

Update spotlight number 3

Now this one I have been so excited for and cannot wait for it to be generally available! As you will be aware Real-time Marketing offers the ability to send personalised emails, along with dynamic content variation to contacts. From December 2023 we will be able to to publicly preview the exact copy of an email that has been sent to a contact! The beauty of this is it empowers marketeers in the future to easily reference the email which has been sent. This will help improve overall compliance and auditing, as marketeers will be confident in the version of an email that a contact has received. Marketeers won’t have to look back at the data that was in the system against the contact record from a few months ago to infer what email has been sent!
